Mug Shots
Mug Shots was a collaborative project for the 2013 Port Festival's 5015 Photography Event between Dani McLean and myself, where we invited cafe patrons to sit for us with a coffee mug as a prop. We took only two images of each person with medium format film cameras in natural light, one head-on and one in profile. The film was then processed in coffee and the prints from the resulting negatives were further developed in coffee. Images were printed on single sheets in pairs, a head-on image plus a profile image. There were 40 pairs of images and a further 6 enlarged individual images hung on the wall of the cafe for the patrons to enjoy.
